Deekika Padukone did her schooling in Sophia High School at Bangalore and completed her pre-university studies at Mount Carmel College Bangalore. After completing her graduation she joined Indira Gandhi National Open University in Bachelors of Arts (Sociology) but never completed it.Deepika gave up studies for modelling and acting. The diva of the Bollywood Deepika, was born on 5 January, 1986 to Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone in Copenhagen, Denmark. When she was eleven months old they moved to Bangalore, India. She attended Sophia High School and completed her pre-university studies at Mount Carmel College Bangalore. While in high school, she played badminton at the state level. However, she was not keen on pursuing a career as a badminton player. During the time of her film debut she was enrolled with the Indira Gandhi National Open University in Bachelors of Arts (Sociology). At the age of 17, Deepika made her first ramp show. Deepika is the elder daughter of Prakash Padukone, who is a former top world level badminton player and Ujjala Padukone, who is a travel agent. She has a younger sister Anisha, who is a golfer and ranks ninth in the country in the sport. Deepika is the grand-daughter of Ramesh Padukone, who was the Secretary of the Mysore Badminton Association for many years. She played her first official tournaments in the year in 1962 and has won the Karnataka state junior championship title.Career
Deepika Padukone pursued a career in modeling. She started modelling assignment with Lakme fashion week in 2005. Later, she signed many modelling assignments and was awarded as Model of the year in Kingfisher fashion awards. She was a Brand ambassador of Levi Strauss and Tissot SA. She made her cinematic debut in the Kannada Film Aishwarya in 2006 starring opposite actor Upendra.She first made her bollywood entry with Shahrukh Khan's Om shanti Om which was a blockbuster hit and made her to won FilmFare Best Female Debut Award. Again with these two stars combination, their is a latest hit film "Chennai Express". Deepika is currently starring opposite Ranvir singh in the romantic flick "Ramleela". She hit the international scene when Maybelline made her their new international covergirl face. She has received many prestigious modelling offers including brand ambassadorship of the Jewels of India and an annual jewellery exhibition.
